Consultant Dermatologist
MBBS (Singapore), M.Med (Internal Medicine),Dr Cheong Lai Leng is a registered dermatologist that is fully accredited by the Ministry of Health in Singapore. She has been practicing dermatology for over 20 years. Her area of interest includes surgical management of dermatological conditions and cosmetic dermatology.
Dr Cheong Lai Leng is a Consultant Dermatologist at the Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre.
She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS), in 1985. She then obtained her Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) from the National University of Singapore and Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (United Kingdom).
Dr Cheong completed her residency training in dermatology at the National Skin Centre, Singapore, in 1993. Her subspecialty training in the field of Dermatologic Surgery was undertaken at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation at Cleveland, Ohio, USA, in 1994-95. Dr Cheong was conferred fellowship of the Academy of Medicine (Dermatology), Singapore in 1996 and obtained accreditation as a dermatologist by the Ministry of Health, Singapore.
She has been practicing dermatology for over two decades. Much of her time is focused on the surgical management of dermatological conditions and the practice of cosmetic dermatology.
She has lectured at medical conferences as well as public forums on topics in her area of professional interest which include laser therapy, cold-steel surgery, cosmetic dermatology, techniques in skin resurfacing with the carbon dioxide laser and CoolTouch3 laser, photorejuvenation of the skin. She has incorporated the use of chemical peels, injection of botulinum toxin and fillers in her clinical practice as part of her armamentarium for combined procedures in facial rejuvenation.
Dr Cheong is a Corresponding Fellow of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. She has held various leadership posts in the Dermatological Society of Singapore in the past and is actively involved in efforts to uphold professional standards in the practice of dermatology.
